Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Brizup ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Brizup mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Who We Are

Brizup is developed and operated by Dan Hasson.
Contact: brizup.support.team@gmail.com

3. Who Uses the App

The App is intended for use within licensed educational institutions. Users include students (any age), teachers, headmasters, and system administrators. Schools that purchase a licence enter into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with us, which governs the processing of student data. Parents or guardians of students under 13 should contact their school for information about how their child's data is handled.

4. Data We Collect

Account Data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your full name, email address, and Google account ID.

Profile Data: Username (chosen by you), role (student/teacher/headmaster/admin), associated class codes.

Usage Data: Assignments, submissions, grades, feedback, and accessibility settings.

Files: Files uploaded through the App are stored on Cloudinary.

Crash and Diagnostic Data: We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports when the App encounters an error. This may include device type, operating system version, and a technical stack trace. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs and is not linked to your identity.

Analytics Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised usage data, such as which features are used and how often. This data does not identify individual users and is used solely to improve the App.

Push Notification Data: We store a device notification token (FCM token) to deliver in-app notifications such as new tasks, grading updates, reminders, and announcements. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.

We do NOT collect: Location data or device identifiers for advertising. We do not sell or share personal data for marketing purposes.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide the App's core functionality, authenticate users, sync preferences, diagnose crashes and fix technical issues (Crashlytics), understand how features are used to improve the App (Analytics), and respond to support requests. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

Google Firebase AuthenticationUser sign-in
Google FirestoreData storage
Google Cloud FunctionsBackend processing
Firebase AnalyticsAnonymised usage analytics
Firebase CrashlyticsCrash reporting and diagnostics
CloudinaryFile storage (assignments, submissions)

These services process personal data on our behalf as data processors. Google services are operated under Google's Privacy Policy and Data Processing Terms.

7. Data Retention

User account data is retained while the account is active. When a user deletes their account, all associated data is permanently deleted (profile, submissions, files, Auth account). If a school's licence expires, data may be retained for up to 90 days before deletion. Crash and analytics data retained by Firebase is governed by Google's retention policies (typically 90 days for Crashlytics, 14 months for Analytics).

8. Your Rights

Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law (5741-1981) and Amendment No. 13 (effective August 14, 2025), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (PPA) if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully. You can delete your account directly in the App under Settings → Delete Account. For other requests, contact us at brizup.support.team@gmail.com.

9. Children's Privacy

The App may be used by children of any age within a school context. Schools are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental or guardian consent for students under 13, as required by applicable law and the Data Processing Agreement signed with us. We do not knowingly collect data from children outside of the school context. Crash and analytics data collected from all users, including minors, is anonymised and not used for advertising or profiling.

10. International Users

Brizup is operated from Israel and is primarily governed by Israeli privacy law. If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, your data may be subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In such cases, we rely on legitimate interests or the performance of a contract as our lawful basis for processing. Data transferred outside Israel or the EU is protected under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by our sub-processors (see Section 6).

11. Database Registration

In accordance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law (5741-1981), Amendment No. 13, and the Privacy Protection Regulations, we maintain and register databases containing personal data as required by Israeli law.

11. Security

We use Firebase Security Rules for role-based access control, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), and secure secret management. Account deletion is handled server-side via Admin SDK.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
